The Golditch Families

All Golditch descendants trace their roots to the Kiev region of Ukraine, with possible shtetls including Skvira, Boguslav, and Tarasha. I have been able to put most of the known Golditch descendants into one of five descendant groups. I am trying to figure out how these five are related to one another and find the common ancestors. Here is a summary of the families and the names by which I currently refer to them.

• Jacob Golditch Family. This is the largest of the United States Golditch trees and includes about 175 people. Jacob was born in July 1849 in the Kiev region of the Ukraine. His father was Chiam Mordechai (Max). Here is a photo of this family from the 1920's.
• British Golditch Family. This line includes Saul (b ~1870), Rabbi Meshillim Zisie (b ~1885), Yitzak, and Sir Philip Biron and has spread to primarily England, Australia, New Zealand with some in US and Israel. Some of the family use the name "Goldrich".
• Maryland Golditch Family. This family currently goes back to Morris who died in Baltimore in about 1894 and includes about 10 people in the Maryland area.
• Muttle Golditch Family. This family starts with Muttle and Esther/Elka G in maybe 1880 and includes about 10 known descendants. The Golditch’s today live mostly in California. Women’s married names include Loober, Miller and Luzansky.
• Samuel/Rose Golditch Family. This family of about 20 known descendants today live mostly in California and Illinois. Some may have been in Canada. Sam (b est 1870) had brothers Philip, Nathan, and Meyer (Muttle?).
